Sad Glinda picture number two billion.

This picture is from the Wicked novel - set just after Elphaba and Glinda separated in the Emerald city, and Glinda had to make the lonely return journey by herself.

Poor Glinda. I mean she was hurt so badly by Elphaba's leaving that she hid her feelings for the rest of her life, resorting to her old stand by as the bubbly debutante.

At the beginning of the Space Program, Nasa discovered a ball-point pen would not work in anti-gravity, so the spent one billion dollars developing the famous Space Pen. The USSR used a pencil.....

Yes, I always thought that Glinda was the more interesting character of the two - and her storyline was the more tragic. You had an idea of the type of strong person she could have become, and it's sad that it became completely internalised after Elphaba abandoned her :(

Such an amazing concept!

God is love, Jesus is life.

Shoot for the moon; that way, even if you miss, you'll always land among the stars.

Aww, this is such a sad picture, but very well drawn- you can really see the emotion in it :]

Elphaba was able to make herself strong, but Glinda was placed in a system that had assigned her a role and the one time someone encouraged to not be the person she thought she was, and look what happens.

Every time I see something like this, it makes me want to read the book even more. I watched the London musical a couple of weeks or so back, and fell in love.. but the book would go that much more in-depth as to what their characters are really like.

Don't try to look mysterious. Smile, and let people wonder what the joke is.

It's so simple and yet so expressive!

Just finished the novel for the first time last week and you've captured the emotion of this scene perfectly.

great work :D

Perfect, I loved Glinda and really wish she were in the book more.

Nice :) I like the monotone and the way you've drawn the hair.

I should really get around to getting that book...
