EDIT: Full view makes things nicer

Thought I ought to upload this as it's been on my computer for far too long untouched!

It evolved after I did a silly little Wicked/HP crossover meme, and I couldn't stop wondering about which houses to put the characters into, and how the stories would merge so well.

So here's my thought process:

Galinda: Born into a very rich muggle family, it would come as a bit of a shock to get her Hogwarts letter and be thrown into a completely different class structure. But due to her natural charisma and good looks, she is very popular, and reasonably talented at practical subjects, like Charms. However, she always feels like she's missing out on climbing the muggle social ladder that her parents had intended for her, and it's this vague alienation that draws her to another outcast: Elphaba.

Should Galinda be Slytherin or Gryffindor? I wondered about that - but I chose Gryffindor because I've always believed that Glinda works very hard being a figurehead in order to use her power to secretly achieve the kind of good work that Elphaba could not. Which is brave. Hence: Gryffindor. Not to mention, even in the musical - to approach Elphaba at the party, in front of all her judging friends to try and make amends is pretty brave.

Elphaba: The Thropps would no doubt be a high class Pureblood family, though Elphaba's odd colouration has left a stain on their reputation (no pun intended). Elphaba hopes to learn some kind of magic at Hogwarts that can change her skin colour, though this conflicts with her sense of self-worth. Her high grades and fiery wit distance her from her classmates, as does her campaigning for justice (ala Hermione House Elves).

Elphaba has got to be a Ravenclaw. She values wit, intelligence and justice over matters of the heart.

Nessarose: Though she believes she is pure-blood, her mothers infidelity with a magical creature (Quadling much?) resulted in her being born with no arms. However, she is a master of non-verbal spells, due to her inability to wave a wand, and her Quadling blood has (unknown to all) given her a different kind of magic strength. Elphaba enchanted her shoes for her to be able to walk properly.

Nessa is Slytherin down to to a T. Cunning, manipulative, obsessed with class.

Fiyero: Born into a very wealthy pureblood family, Fiyero is quite naive about the muggle world, and has very little interest in it. He is charismatic, though not particularly intelligent, and treats people fairly. He becomes interested in Elphaba however, when Galinda suggests that she tutors him in Muggle Studies, which he is failing. He shares a dorm with Boq, his best friend.

I think Fiyero is a Hufflepuff - mainly because he is not particularly brave, or intelligent, or cunning -but he is loyal, fair and willing to learn.

Boq: Though he is pure-blood, his large family is mixed and varied, and Boq has few prejudices. He grew up near the Thropps, and was a friend to young Elphaba and Nessarose, though both sisters are distant from him at Hogwarts, until Fiyero becomes friends with Galinda...and therefore Elphaba.

Boq = Hufflepuff. SOOO a Hufflepuff. Plus, that means he gets to share a dorm with Fiyero.

Anyway, done with Open Canvas and Photoshop

I love the way you've blended together the personalities of the characters between the book by Gregory McGuire and also the musical by Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman.

Plus, two of my favorite things combined in to one! Total win!!
:iconoukawolf46:
I love you so much for this I can't even begin to tell you.

I like your work on Wicked, I hope you will continue to do so. :)

Haha I liked your crossover meme as well ;P

Boq is reminding me of the early HP's Neville.. but definitely would be a Hufflepuff.

Their capes are awesome. Wish I had one like it haha! ^^

:+fav: of course~

“No-no-no!” someone was shouting. “No! Fred! No!”
And Percy was shaking his brother, and Ron was kneeling beside him, and Fred’s eyes stared without seeing, the ghost of his last laugh still etched upon his face.
